The next Governor of Anambra State will be a surprise to everybody, according to the Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke, Idemmili North Local Government Area of the state, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma, better known as Ebube Muonso. He made the prediction on Monday while speaking with newsmen at his Blessed Iwene Tansi Parish, Umudioka, Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state.
He urged political party aspirants in the forthcoming governorship elections in the state to ensure that they give peace a chance and avoid all kinds of violence before, during and after the elections.
Father Obimma also asked the candidates to allow the will of God to prevail in the elections to avoid His wrath, even as he insisted God had revealed to him who the next Governor would be but he would not announce it until the opportune time.
Ebube Muonso reminded the contestants that their intention of seeking public office should be to serve the people and not to fill their private pockets and re-echoed his warning against violence in the November 18 poll.
He said: “It is only God who will decide who the next governor will be and he has already packaged that person and he revealed the person to me. Let people vote according to their conscience but God has the final say. It is not a do-or-die affair but the next governor will be a surprise to everybody.
“Aspirants should as well know that they are going there to represent the masses and not to fill their pockets or marginalise others. They should know that they are there to serve. Christ came to serve and not to be served and that was why he washed the disciple’s feet. Let us eschew violence, hatred, idolatry, wickedness, injustice and embrace peace."
The fiery preacher appealed to electorates to ensure there is no breech of peace in whatever they do, because without peace the state would not move forward.
He said he believed in restructuring of Nigeria, but lamented that people of the Southeast and other zones were being marginalised from the scheme of things and called on Igbo stakeholders to sit up and speak against injustice.
“In our country Nigeria, it is certain that there is marginalisation, nepotism and tribalism. We are one Nigeria but some people are being marginalised and that is the essence of all these agitations. But in everything, let there be prudence and let also pray for divine intervention because the heart of every king is in the hand of God."
Ebube Muonso thanked God for President Muhammadu Buhari’s safe return and quick recovery, calling on him to look into agitations bedevilling the nation and mindless killings.
“We thank God for Buhari’s return and the entire ministry have been praying for him for safe return. Nobody will wish a fellow human being death but the president should know that Nigerians love him.”
He condemned the mindless killing of farmers by herdsmen across the country and appealed to President Buhari to intervene to stop the killings before it takes another dimension.
Ebube Muonso condemned the quit notice by Northern youths, which has now been withdrawn insisting that it was suicidal because those who made the initial order are scattered all over the world without anybody asking them to quit where they live.
