Funai Has No Tolerance For Cultism And Exam Malpractice - Says VC

The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI), Ebonyi said the University has zero tolerance to cultism, examination malpractice, prostitution, drug abuse, academic laziness and other unwholesome bahaviours.

The Vice Chancellor made this known while addressing the newly admitted students of the University during an orientation programme organized to lead them through the dynamics of University administration and to prepare them for life at the institution.

Represented by his Deputy, Prof. Sunday Elom, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the fresh students for meeting the standard required to gain admission into the University in the midst of thousands of other prospective candidates.

The Vice-Chancellor admonished them to take their studies seriously because their academic success counts from the first day of their resumption in the university, noting that FUNAI does not condone ‘cultism, exam malpractice, prostitution, drug abuse, laziness and any form of criminality.’

Prof. Nwajiuba further enjoined the freshmen to make good use of the opportunity the University has afforded them by being hard working and law abiding to the University rules and regulations, advising them to make God the centre of their lives, for without Him they might not be able to go far in life.

Earlier the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Charles Okolie had told the fresh students to count themselves lucky to have been among the few that were deemed qualified to be admitted into the University, noting that they could not have been in a better place as the University is highly rated within and outside the country. He further informed them about the various facilities the University has provided for their comfort while on campus, advising them to ensure they take adequate care of it because they would be held responsible for any willful damage of the University property.

The highpoint of the 2-day event was the presentation of talks on different topics all geared towards informing and educating the students on their rights and obligations to the University as well as what they need to do in order to excel in their various disciplines.
