Enmity will always reign in the affairs of men but only a reasonable man will never succumb to its will.
The series of events inour lives have made
us at some point enemies of people. Whether we were at fault or not, some actions have made us decide never to speak with some people again. But along the line, we realised the foolishness of our decision, and we discarded our intentions. If it will never do you good, why engage in it? I'm not trying to discredit the fact that some people have sworn never to be at peace with us, but still, I will implore you never to reciprocate with same measure.
Some people became enemies on social media platforms because of issues that don't worth it. Some people became enemies of others because their friends are enemy with those people. We seem to take insignificant matter too serious because we are not tolerant enough to accommodate or overlook them. And with this, the chain of hatred keeps elongating.
Sometimes ago, I engaged an atheist on somebody's wall. In fact, the words we used were a way out of sane beings' world. We lambasted and talked down each other. Later, I had to apologise the atheist and added him on Facebook, while the guy, whose wall became the boxing ring, unfriended me months later because I questioned his view on a trending matter then. Can you see now? If I had done something more terrible than that, I would still be unfriended by the guy.
Some years ago, a sect of Christians in this country instituted a doctrine that systematically dubbed television a devil's box(apoti esu). For several years, they never wanted to see television around their abodes; some broke and destroyed theirs. I know some of them would see people that watched television then as sinners, which would have created enmity between them and the television users. Gradually, they started with the use of computer. And today, they can't do without television on Mondays and Thursdays for the live transmission of their founder's message. Isn't it funny that the use of devil's box is now an important part of their religious activities today?
At the end of the tunnel, you will see that what you've been fighting for doesn't worth it; you will see that what you've weared militant spirit about doesn't worth it; you will see that what you've been combative about is just a mere issue you can settle amicably without causing pandemonium.
